All prices are listed in Indian Rupee (INR).
I agree that I am purchasing the Goods for my own personal or business use and will not on-sell the Goods unless otherwise agreed in writing by Bookbins.
Bookbins is an online bookstore and our primary means of communication with you is by your email address listed on your Bookbins account. Bookbins will not be held responsible for any missed communication due to the email address being incorrect. If you have more than one email address, please check all email accounts before contacting Bookbins.
Changing or Cancelling orders
In the first instance, if you have an issue with your order then please contact Bookbins Customer Care as soon as possible.
Changes to orders, including cancelling because of an error or for a change of mind, are possible only for a limited time before your order begins processing in our Distribution Centre for In Stock items, or begins processing at our supplier for all other items.
If you want to change your order, you will need to advise us as soon as possible in order for us to determine whether your order has been processed. Once your order has been processed it is not possible to change that order. Note we are unable to combine multiple orders.
Any addition or substitution may cause a change in the shipping time frame for that order so please be aware of the advised shipping time for added or substituted items.
In Stock items are marked with the ‘In Stock’ symbol on the product’s listing on the Bookbins website, whilst other products will advise a shipping time frame allowing for our supplier to fulfil the product to us.
Other than for defective items a refund is only possible if we have confirmed that your change or cancellation was able to be processed. We may offer a store credit for a cancellation accepted outside of these terms.
Returns Policy
This policy does not limit the rights you are entitled to under Indian Consumer Law.
Returns for defective items
If there is a problem with any of the items received for your order then the Bookbins Customer Care team is available to help you.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Indian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
If you have received an item that is incorrect, damaged or faulty please contact us as soon as possible from the time the delivery was made. Bookbins will require evidence of the issue and may require you to return the item for assessment.
Bookbins may provide means to return an item at no cost to you or an alternate remedy. If an item is required to be returned (at no cost) it must be packed securely with cardboard or bubble wrap protecting the item, packed to prevent movement inside the package and ensuring the package is firmly enclosed.
Returns for change of mind
Before returning anything, you must contact Bookbins Customer Care.
Bookbins is not obligated to accept a return for a change of mind. If we do accept a change of mind return then you must pay return postage and will only be entitled to a store credit, excluding the cost of shipping, for the approved returned item.
All returns must be packed securely with cardboard or bubble wrap protecting the item, packed to prevent movement inside the package and ensuring the package is firmly enclosed.
Returned items for a change of mind must be received at Bookbins in new and re-saleable condition (except where a damaged item has been accepted for return).
Where an item is returned for a change of mind without Bookbins’s approval, or has not been packed securely, or is not in a new or re-saleable condition when it arrives at Bookbins’s Distribution Centre, Bookbins is not obligated to provide a refund or store credit and the item may be returned to you. We will contact you to advise of the return status.
Store credits and refunds for an approved change of mind return will only apply to the item returned and will not cover any return postage costs or your original shipping charge.
A return and refund for a change of mind is not possible for the following product types:
- Magazine Subscriptions
- Gift Certificates
- eBooks
- Other Digital Content
- Bulk Orders where special pricing and/or product sourcing has been provided
- Print on Demand titles has been advised
Reviewing Orders
Bookbins reviews every order prior to processing and will only authorise items that we believe we can source. Some items may not be available and alternatives may be recommended instead. An automated email will be sent asking you to log into your Bookbins account to view the status of the titles on your order. You will not be charged for items we cannot source.
You may cancel an order if unshipped within 120 days provided that is not in transit from a supplier. We reserve the right to cancel and refund your order where more than 120 days have passed and we are unable to source the title(s).
Delivery Expectations
In Stock at the Bookbins Warehouse
There will be an ‘in stock’ and ‘Aims to Ship’ on the product information page of the individual title indicating if the title is in stock and the estimated amount of business days (‘Days’) required to ship from our warehouse (‘Ship’).
Occasionally stock runs out before the website is updated and you will be notified if you have been affected. Dispatch times for ‘in stock’ items can be delayed due to; increased volume of orders; warehouse disruptions; and for other matters beyond our control.
Items Not In Stock at the Bookbins Warehouse
Items that are NOT in stock at the Bookbins Warehouse will need to be ordered from the supplier.
The title you are seeking may have to be ordered from an Indian or overseas supplier. Each item you order may have different delivery expectations depending on availability.
To offer the widest range of items online we rely on information provided by the publishers and distributors. Our website is updated daily but titles can and do sometimes become temporarily unavailable whilst reprinting, or they may go out of print without prior notice from the publisher. If an item in your order is affected you will be notified of the delay.
How long will it take to deliver this title to you?
- After you place your order, we will research where best to source this title. Usual Processing time is 1 business day, Shipping time is 2 business days, and Delivery time is 4-7 business days according to your postal address. Delivery time may very with state to state or with different zones of the India.
- You will be sent an email once your order has been processed from us and we will keep you updated through various communication options. (You may also get updates from our shipping logistics partner.)
- If delivery times are not suitable then you can ask someone else to receive the shipment on your behalf or you can ask the delivery person to deliver at another time. Let us clear one thing that usually delivery agents try maximum 3 attempts for the delivery and after that they mark the shipment as RTO and it will get returned. In that case customer will be liable for the return charges.
- In case of COD (Cash on Delivery) orders, we may call customers for the verification of the order as many time customers randomly place the orders and they did non accept it at the time of delivery. If we suspect any fake order while talking to you, Bookbins holds the right to cancel your order without any kind or notice.
- In case of COD orders, delayed verification may lead to delay in shipping and delivery.
- Remember that once we hand over any order to the delivery agents, we hold the same information as customers are informed from our shipping partner/partners. In case of any issue with this whole ongoing process of delivery of any order, we are just a mediator to help our customers.
Shipping Expectations
- All items are intended to be shipped by the time listed on the product information page.
- Specialist titles that can be sourced by Bookbins may take additional time to ship to you as they are not titles that suppliers keep readily available and need to be specifically ordered in. e.g. academic texts, older hardcover editions, or titles on very specific subjects.
- Extremely specialised titles (i.e. indent titles) or titles waiting for a reprint can take 6 weeks to 4 months to source from suppliers around the world. Indent titles are firm sale and cannot be cancelled or returned (except where the indent title is damaged, faulty or incorrect in which case a refund or replacement (subject to availability from the supplier) will be available in accordance with the Returns Policy).
- Some titles are yet to be published so pay attention to the publisher’s predicted publish date when ordering. In all instances we will notify you of shipping times for each title with the information we have at the time of processing your order as discussed above.
If items are not readily available then we will endeavour to contact you to discuss the time frame for these items.
Once your order has been shipped, an automated email will be sent confirming dispatch from our warehouse.
Insufficint and/or Incorrect Delivery Information
Address changes and/or corrections made through your Bookbins Account will only affect future orders placed after the changes and/or corrections are made. Any changes and/or corrections for current orders must be done by contacting the Bookbins Customer Care Team as soon as possible.
Customers who enter addresses that Indian Post have deemed having incorrect and/or insufficient details to ensure delivery may result in the following:
- Delayed delivery
- Lost parcel
- Package/s returned to the Bookbins Warehouse
If Bookbins has incorrectly addressed a package then Bookbins will be responsible for the resending, replacement or refund of the items not delivered or delayed, including any further cost of packaging and delivery.
Where you have provided any incorrect and/or insufficient information that results in the package being returned then your order may be cancelled and a store credit will be issued.
Bookbins will not be liable for any shipment that is materially delayed or lost and is found to have had incorrect and/or insufficient details provided by you.
If the package has the correct delivery information and is ‘lost’ by our Shipping Partner, Bookbins will replace the items (at Bookbins’s cost) or issue a store credit if the timing of the shipment of the replacement copies is not acceptable to you. You will first need to have checked with your local centre of our shipping partner.
If Bookbins is unable to source a replacement copy due to the title no longer being available a refund will be processed for the unavailable title.
Cheque and Bank Transfers
Where you pay by;
- Cheque/Money Order and the funds are not received within 14 days;
- Bank Transfer and the funds are not received within 30 days;
your order will be cancelled.
If the stock availability or prices have changed between the time of placing the order and payment being received your order may be cancelled.
Please include the Bookbins Order Number as a reference when you are paying by Bank Transfer and send a message via the message centre in your Bookbins account informing us that you have made the payment.
Charging of Credit Cards
All purchases including eBooks and Gift Certificates are charged at checkout.
After you have placed the order and we find an Item/s is no longer available we will remove it from your processed order and you will be refunded for that item.
If any delays are discovered on a title at the time of processing, you will be notified with the options available to you.

If the stock availability or prices have changed between the time of placing the order and payment being received your order may be cancelled.
Orders with Multiple Items
Customers with more than one item may be sent their items in multiple shipments. Bookbins may hold on to items after the first item has been allocated to the order to include as many items in one shipment as possible.
Customers shipping to addresses in India pay a one-off fee for as many shipments required per order. If you require items to be sent before the items in your order are consolidated, an additional postage charge may apply. You can request items to be sent sooner by contacting the Bookbins Customer Care Team.
Privacy
We keep all personal information submitted in the strictest confidence and in accordance with Bookbins’s privacy policy. The information is kept on a secure server and is only used to process orders from Bookbins. This information will not be released to anyone other than necessary to complete your order. We may provide our suppliers with your personal information that is necessary to complete your order so they may deliver directly to you to improve delivery times. We require your contact information to be kept in the strictest confidence by them. We will not rent or sell your personal information to any third party outside of Bookbins without your permission.
Third-Party Service Providers: Bookbins may provide the service providers that deliver packages with your email address and/or mobile phone number ONLY to provide customers up to date delivery tracking of dispatched orders.
