It is crazy how thriller stories work. It takes an author months to develop his /her perfect murder mystery. But only a second for someone to blurt out the name of the murderer. There, all the efforts of the author washed away in a splash! A crime thriller becomes bare, naked when the suspense is revealed. But there are crimes thrillers out there which are so mesmerizingly written that no doubt you will read them even if someone spits the name of the killer on your face ten times. This is one such crime thriller. Yes, this is the book!

The Plot

Rumour and mystery circle Soldier Island. Very few rich folks have been there before and vast majority of others wonder what it is like. Mr. Owen is now the rumoured owner of the most luxurious house built on the island. A house spectacular than any other house any mortal has ever laid eyes upon. Letters are sent to people inviting them to spend the time of their lives at the island. Thrilled by the prospect of a lavish holiday, eight strangers are escorted to their destination. It seems like a dream- the magnificent house, the vast sea, the chilly breeze, the decadent food! Almost too surreal to believe. On the first day, while the guests help themselves with drinks, a voice on the gramophone makes them jump. Whatever the voice says makes their blood run cold. And between the tension caused in the room, there’s a death. A sudden death out of nowhere. It begins thus, death one after the other. The guests are dumbfounded and helpless. Who and where could be the killer? Since the only people on the island were eight strangers and two house helps. Just ten strangers stuck together on the lonely, suddenly dangerous island. And no one knows a way out…

There are no clues left behind by the murderer, except for the nursery rhyme to which the killer carefully relates every murder. Every single person is under each other’s suspicion. They don’t trust each other; they doubt that the person sitting next to them is the killer. Only if they could prove it somehow…

But time is running out. Every few hours a person turns to a corpse. They are trapped in a series of unexpected, dramatic, perfectly planned murders which continue mysteriously until all of them are gone for good…
